As a kid I was always captivated by shows like The New Yankee Workshop, Junkyard Wars, Mythbusters, MacGyver, Basically if the show involved making a thing, I was into it. My father is one of those guy's who can pretty much do/make anything at least halfway decently, and often included my bothers and I in the process of making whatever it was in the shop. While I was deployed to Iraq, I was given the position of the camp handyman, and took ownership over a vast quantity of tools. Often there was a cabinet or sign or podium that “the brass” needed in addition to me fixing peoples doors, so became as much of a fabrication shop as the fix-it guy.

Now, my day job has me working as structural engineer so I spend a lot of time behind a computer doing math. So I’m always happy to get into the shop in the evenings and weekends and put my hands to work. My shop is a mix of traditional woodworking, CNC, manual machining, blacksmithing, model making carving... kind of everything.
